WHO ARE WE

Caregiving International is an internal nonprofit organization founded by Clarissa Fells Smith and led by several other members of the board. Base in Birmingham, Alabama, we intend to bring awareness to all persons about the plight, struggle, and need for elder abuse prevention and protection. We understand that teaching our children and communities to care for elders makes a more humane society. America is lagging in how we treat, honor, and respect an aging population. We must start educating and informing generations now to establish a solid foundation of honor, which begins at home. Many problems in America's culture today can be traced to a lack of honor and respect for elders, such as: disobeying elders and adults, rule violations, and disrespect at home, school, and community, which contributes to crime, violence, and increased incarceration.

We fight against elder abuse in America and around the world. Become a vocal advocate against abuse anywhere, at home, in facilities, and abroad.

We are the Voice of the Most Vulnerable of Society... children, the disabled, and our aging population.

Every year, millions of elders and children are abused. Caregiving International understands that this is a worldwide problem. Since the entire world is aging, we anticipate an epidemic of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation at the hands of family members, and those in the community including other settings and environments.

Our organization was founded on the belief that all people should be treated with dignity and respect. Laws need to be enforced to ensure the protection of the most vulnerable of society. We will be advocating legislatively to change laws that put our generations at risk.
